Description
Gold Rush is Steam & Steel's first community-created map - a US-inspired desert map with vast hills and mountains. The map features realistic material and height setups owing to the pipeline used for creating the map itself - which was done outside of ROBLOX Studio. The map's various industries are sparsely placed, and often at steep elevations from one another.

Gold Rush and Badlands are the only two maps in the game that do not give a $5000 subsidy bonus upon first delivering to an industry. As a result, the player must be careful with their starting budget and plan ahead. Care must be taken not to spend too much on trestles, cuts and tunnels, so use the terrain to your advantage. This adds quite a bit of challenge.

Initial Depot Configuration
Gold Rush's initial depot configuration offers:

* Two tracks and a switch
* Class C
* Coaling Station
* 4x 17' Stake Wagons
* 1x 20' Flat Wagon

Industries
There are a whopping 16 industry locations for players to interact with for transportation on this map. Gold Rush features the Gold Mine (tier 3) and Gold Smith (tier 4). The Gold Mine utilizes Beams and Lumber to create Gold Ore and Uncut Gems, which players can then transport to the Gold Smith or sell for a lower price at the Freight Depot. The Gold Smith requires Gold Ore, Uncut Gems, and Coal/Cordwood to produce Jewelry, which players can transport and sell back at their Freight Depot.

Trivia
* Gold Rush was created alongside a separate desert map - Badlands, which released a month after Gold Rush.
