The Trainworks is a large brick industrial building that the player can construct. Unlike most other buildings, the Trainworks does not assist any industries or provide storage.

"A specialized machine shop for locally producing rolling stock and locomotives. Once placed gives a 20% discount on all purchased rolling stock (does not stack)."

When bought, the Trainworks gives the player a 20% discount on all purchased locomotives and rolling stock. This does not stack with multiple Trainworks. The Trainworks also becomes the default spawn point for any purchased rolling stock or locomotives, allowing the player an option to avoid going all the way to the Freight Depot to pick them up. Two tracks are provided, with purchased rolling stock appearing on the left-hand track.

The Trainworks cannot be entered despite having tracks leading to it, as the doors do not function. The building itself is merely cosmetic.

The Trainworks is best bought early on, to maximize the effectiveness of its 20% discount as the player's railroad rapidly develops.
