Description
[edit | edit source]The RSR Type C'N2 Class K1, also known as the Class K1, is a powerful mainline 0-6-0 tender engine used for hauling goods trains and designed to compete with the Class B2 and Class H2 locomotives. It is faster and more powerful than a B2, and grips better than an H2 when working on grades. It features new chuffing sounds and introduces the Caledonian Blue paint. It is the main-line counterpart to the Class K2, with a cab and no integrated saddle tank.
Tips and Tricks:
[edit | edit source]- This engine is designed for mixed-traffic operations, being decent at various roles across the railway.
- Despite being an 0-6-0, the K1 is faster than the 0-4-4 Class J1 by 2 mph.
- It is intended as a more cost-effective variant of the Class J2.
- The Class K1's center pair of driving wheels are blind, lacking wheel flanges and guide spheres to allow the engine to take sharper turns without derailing.
