Class F

Description

The RSR Type 1A1'N2 Class F, or simply known as the Class F, is a small and nimble 2-2-2 tender engine that shares a striking resemblance to the Class C. It is an ideal locomotive for railroaders who need an engine for shorter trains at higher speeds and is an excellent long-distance locomotive.

Since the cost was recently lowered to only $12134, the Class F is a viable second/third engine one could buy in order to get their cargo moving. Essentially, it is just a Class C but superior in every way. It shares the Class C's high top speed (and in fact surpasses it due to its larger drivers), but unlike the Class C, the F class has enough power to push its top speed with a light load. This speed makes the F class a great performer on lines with relatively flat grades. Maps with far away industries can be reached in less time as well.

Tips & tricks

• The ideal time one could buy this is after purchasing and acquiring a Class A1 or Class A2.
• Although its tractive effort is large, this engine is not suited for heavy or long trains due to its single pair of driving wheels offering poor adhesion. It should be used in a similar role to the other 2-2-2 engines.
• Long straights and gentle grades are key when using this engine.
