[edit | edit source]The RSR Type B'n2st Class A1, commonly referred to as the Class A1, holds the distinction of being the primary choice for railroaders seeking an affordable and efficient starter engine in the early stages of Steam and Steel. Priced attractively at $5714, it is a budget-friendly option compared to other engines, making it an excellent entry-level choice for players.
In the very early game, the Class A1 proves to be a reliable workhorse. With a decent top speed, it can reach up to 21 MPH, ensuring smooth transportation operations. Originally, it used to held the title of being the lightest engine available, weighing merely 12.3 tons. This title was soon taken by Class A0, which weighs only 9.1 tons.
The engine cannot hold any coal as it required the assistance of a tender to facilitate the coal filling.
Trivia
[edit | edit source]- The Class A1 was one of the first engines to be added to the game as an update, along with Class A2.
- The Class A1's driving wheels are around 3.3 feet in diameter.
- The Class A1 is one of two engines added into game to replace the older Class A, the other being the Class A2.
- The locomotive is stronger then the Class A2, with a 875 tractive effort difference.
