Class J2
The RSR Type 1C'N2 Class J2, also known as the Class J2, is an expensive and powerful 2-6-0 "Mogul" mixed-traffic locomotive.
This is, without a doubt, one of the most cost-effective engine in game. It possesses many novel features, such as a swiveling pony truck and cosmetic blower. Coming in with a max speed of 38 mph, a tractive effort that rivals the Class H's and being available for cheaper makes this locomotive among the most effective in game. Imagine the H Class but faster. It is often considered the "meta" engine of Steam & Steel.
Presumably, it is a refinement of the 0-4-4 Class J1.
Tips and Tricks
[edit | edit source]- Along with the Class K1, this is considered one of the best value late-game locomotives, as it is very versatile and can be considered a jack of all trades suitable for most tasks given to it.
- Just like the Class H, the J2 is quite the coal guzzler.
- If one needs more power, opt for the Class H or Class H2.
- It is the only engine with a swiveling lead pony truck, as all other engines with swiveling trucks have them as trailing wheels.
- The Class J2's center pair of driving wheels are blind, lacking wheel flanges and guide spheres to allow the engine to take sharper turns without derailing.
