Class E
Description
[edit | edit source]The RSR B1T Class E, or the Class E, is an 0-4-2 tank engine with a price of $20,817. It has an average top speed, reaching upwards of 26 MPH, with a weight of 26 tons. The engine can hold up to 1080kg of coal, which can of course be increased using a tender. It has tractive effort of 20,527, which is below average for its price range.
While it was once the most powerful locomotive in the game, newer locomotives have rendered this locomotive obsolete. It is outclassed in tractive effort and speed by the cheaper Class F, and it is also much weaker than the Class D1 which is half its price. Its poor weight-to-power ratio limits its pulling power. There is very little reason to purchase the Class E besides preference for its looks or if one is desperate for a decent tank locomotive. However, the Class I costs only $5K more more and boasts even better stats than the aforementioned Class F which already outclasses the Class E. Railroaders looking to get the most out of their money should avoid the Class E.
Trivia
[edit | edit source]- It has double the tractive effort of the Class C, coming in at 20,527.
- It has the same speed as the Class A2, at 26 MPH.
- It is currently one of eight tank engines currently in the game.
